Possum Removal Tips

Hello, my name is Sue, and I’ve just survived a possum problem! A while ago, we had a possum make its home in our roof. While I quite like possums, this one soon got to be a problem, and we knew that we had to get rid of it. I didn’t want to harm the little fella (and I knew that the possum maybe had more rights than we did as a protected species!) so I started talking to pest control specialists about how to catch the possum and have it safely relocated. We then had to make sure that our roof was possum proof to prevent this happening again. I started this blog to pass on some of the stuff we learned about catching and removing possums. If you have an unwanted possum in your home, I hope it helps you work out what to do!

Options You Could Consider For Bird Control

Not a lot of people dislike birds. They are considered to be pretty harmless, and most people like feeding them when out in the park. However, nobody would like to have their home turned into a sanctuary for birds. If you are not consistent when it comes to bird control you may end up finding that your house has been turned into a refuge for all the birds who may want to come and nest there. Not only will this be an assault to your ears with all the noise they make, but you will also realize that it is quite unhygienic with all the bird droppings that you would have to contend with. This is why you should always nip this in the bud and start employing pest control methods methods the instant that these animals decide to make your residence theirs too. Here are some of the pest control measures that you could opt for when dealing with a bird infestation.

Bird control through erecting spikes on your property

The first pest control method you could consider is the use of spikes. These spikes are placed strategically around your compound and roof, especially in areas that the birds prefer to nest on. Thus, the birds will have to move on to a different location. This is especially convenient, as bird droppings could cause a whole lot of damage if they are not curbed. If left to accumulate on your roof, you will find that your shingles begin to disintegrate sooner than their lifespan, leading to costly roof repairs.

Bird control through installing an electronic track

The second pest control method you could choose to deter the gathering of birds on your property would be installing an electronic track. This type of method works by sending minimal electric shock to the birds whenever they set foot on your property. Although the shock is not fatal, it is just enough to ensure that the birds do not want to pay a visit to your home ever again.

Bird control through application of gel repellent

The last method you could look into when it comes to pest control for birds would be the application of a gel repellent around the areas that the birds like nesting on and feeding near. This gel has a repugnant taste; thus, when the birds ingest it, they are put off from nesting around your house. The gel, however, is harmless to the birds, so you do not have to worry about bird carcasses on your property.
